6,000 people at the fifth edition of the Mercato della FIVI in Piacenza. Sales are up. Pieropan: «Our offering has finally been understood».
The fifth edition of the Mercato dei Vini, the Wine Market, has closed in Piacenza. A decisive step forward was made for this market-fair of the FIVI, the Italian Federation of Independent Wine Makers, with a net increase compared to last year.
«These were two days of celebration – explains Leonildo Pieropan, Vice President of the FIVI – for us wine makers and for the many enthusiasts to whom we were able to talk about our territories and our wines.» 330 exhibitors came from all over Italy to propose the tasting of more than 2000 labels.
The public took advantage of this opportunity to bring home the bottles sampled. «We saw many shopping carts filled to the brim – explained Pieropan – and many producers sold all the wine they brought. Our offering has finally been understood: the event in Piacenza is not a simple tasting bar, but a moment when visitors can buy wines directly from the producers. Entering the homes of people is a way of being remembered. It means prolonging and extending the experience to other people.»
